The Police Command in Cross River State has just paraded 3 members of a robbery gang that has the reputation for snatching cars from one state and selling it off. According to report, the police were able to nab them this time with a Corolla Toyota worth around ₦8 million.

From what we learnt, the suspected notorious gang members were apprehended in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, by officers of the Anti-Kidnapping/Cultism Team (AKCT). After a series of interrogations, the suspects revealed how they snatch cars in Calabar and sell them off in Uyo. They used a similar method for cars they stole in Uyo which they sold in Calabar.
Before their arrest, they were about to sell the ₦8m Toyota Corolla for a ridiculous price of ₦1 million. Abdulkadir Jimoh, who happens to be the Commissioner of Police in Cross Rivers, recently revealed to the pressmen while parading the suspects that the police are set to eliminate all forms of crime from the state.

According to Jimoh, the suspects were tracked down to the stand where they put the car for sale. The police were able to intercept them last Tuesday around 12 am in Akwa Ibom. He further revealed that they were brought back to Calabar where they confessed to their crimes. The police commissioner finally disclosed that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as they finish with the investigation.

One 28-year-old Francis Archbong, who has been identified as one of the suspects, claimed his lack of knowledge on the true value of the stolen car, which made them put the ₦1m price tag on it. He claimed he was a carpenter before venturing into becoming a driver to make quick cash. He disclosed that the Toyota Corolla was handed over to him by one of the gang members identified as Etete, which he drove to Akwa Ibom to sell off.
The names of other suspected armed robbers and cultist arrested alongside Archbong include China Justice (44yrs), Obaseoyi Ibor (38yrs), James Etim (35yrs) and Peter (32yrs).
