According to a report, the police on the isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of England, spotted and grew suspicious of a Lamborghini Aventador SV on the road last Saturday. The police were inside an unmarked BMW X5 at the time when they pulled over the Italian supercar. The driver of the Aventador yielded to the police order and parked at the roadside without any form of drama.
A Lamborghini Aventador was confiscated and towed away by the authorities for refusal to pay road tax
The officers later found out that the owner of the Lamborghini had failed to pay road tax since August, 2020. As a result, the supercar worth over $300,000 (~₦100 million+) was confiscated and loaded onto the back of a flatbed to be towed away.

We were made to understand that vehicles with higher emissions are made to pay more tax than those with regular or lower emissions in England. The highest rate you can pay as a tax is £2,175 (₦1.14m) which is the payment for the first year. For subsequent years, you will only need to pay £150 (~₦79k) to the authorities.
The Italian supercar was towed away after it discovered that the owner hasn't paid road tax since last year
If you own a very expensive car such as the Lamborghini Aventador, it is required of you to add an additional £325 (~₦171.6k) to the initial £150 fee. Considering the amount of money spent to acquire an exotic car like the Aventador SV, it is absolutely an insignificant amount of money to get your car towed for.

This latest event was shared by the Wight police department on their Facebook page. The post however got mixed reactions from the people. While some were on the side of the owner, they couldn't argue with the fact that anyone who could afford to buy such an expensive car shouldn’t default on tax payment. This should teach the owner a lesson not to play smart with the authorities by avoiding tax. Hopefully, the Lamborghini Aventador will be returned to him soon.
