DCP Frank Mba – spokesperson for the Nigeria police squad that arrested this car snatching syndicate told the press that the man, Bashir, is surprisingly a graduate of one Nigerian Polytechnic, who was tracked down after so many painstaking investigations and efforts. DCP Mba explained that the suspect “Bashir” alongside his female accomplice “Amina Yakubu” uses customized master keys made from screwdrivers to break into parked vehicles.

According to the DCP, these car thieves focus on and mostly steal cars that have little to no security features like steering locks or pedals.

According to DCP Mba’s public statement, twenty-one (21) cars were recovered from the syndicate as well as their criminal cohorts whose names are listed below;

  • Bashir Abba
  • Dodo Danbello (Sokoto)
  • Mudeen Adelera
  • Nasiru Bello
  • Hassan Bawa
  • Magazine Garba (Kucheri)

As of the time of receiving this report, the police say further investigations are still ongoing to probably recover more vehicles. It was also stated that the arrested suspects will be soon charged to court to face the law.

The Nigeria Police has cracked down on car thieves all over the country in recent times. There has also been an increase in car vandalism and thefts, just like these Lagos vandals and thieves that stole parts worth hundreds of thousands.

It is obvious that the police in Enugu have been working really hard in the past months to curb crimes in the state. See a video of Notorious Kidnappers arrested a few months ago;
