It is quite unfortunate that sometimes during business transactions, we tend to easily yield to some simple and harmless requests which can be later used against us. Such is exactly the case with one Lagos woman who was recently thrown in shock after a car wash operator ran away with her Ford SUV after she handed over the car keys to him. Yes, the woman unknowingly gave the keys to the car wash guy on the grounds that he wanted to drive the SUV to a nearby car wash shop where he can borrow and use a vacuum cleaner to clean the car properly.

According to police reports, the name of the woman whose car was stolen is Mrs Shofidiya Tosin and the plate registration number on her Ford SUV is EPE 707 FM. During police investigations, Mrs Tosin reportedly narrated that the car wash guy had no vacuum cleaner at his shop when she took her SUV for cleaning with him. This reason she gave the police as the “excuse” which the car wash guy alleged used to cajole her into giving him the car keys before running away with the SUV.
The good news as of now is that men of the Nigerian police force have reportedly arrested the car wash operator and recovered the stolen vehicle. Media reports also claim that DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi of the Ogun State police command confirmed the arrest of the young man and also revealed that his case has already been transferred back to the Lagos state police command. Going by the full narration of the police, the car wash guy was actually heading for Ibadan with plans to sell off the stolen vehicle when he was arrested.
