Residents and motorists using the popular Brewery-Olomore road in the Abeokuta axis of Ogun state could begin “smiling” anytime soon as contractors finally move to begin permanent restoration works on the currently deplorable road.
The state government reportedly tendered apologies for the current conditions of the road and also pleaded for the corporation of the road users as contractors begin rehabilitation works on it.

According to press reports, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, has recently given the necessary approval for the full restoration of all damaged portions and drainage attached to the Brewery-Olomore road.
The reports claim that a huge part of the federal road and its drainage system was destroyed by a series of heavy downpours that recently occurred in the state. It was also stated that these damaged structures have been causing traffic gridlock on the road in recent times.
Residents and road users urged to bear with both the state government and the engineers that will be carrying out the rehabilitation works on the road starting anytime soon. The state government has also promised that permanent fixes will be done to all the portions of the road particularly around the Olomore-Brewery roundabouts. The actual date when the restoration works will begin was never really given but reports claim that it should be anytime this week or next week.
