A new controversial report online claims that PDP campaign vehicles were recently launched in Rivers State without Atiku’s photo. This is confusing because Atiku Abubakar is the famous presidential candidate of the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party). However, it is undeniable that Atiku and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike have not been in good times lately. Also, a new video online seems to show governor Wike addressing the issue of Atiku’s missing photo on the new campaign vehicles.
The newly branded campaign vehicles launched by PDP in Rivers State are said to be without Atiku’s photo
Media reports claim that the PDP in Rivers State recently launched new campaign vehicles for the upcoming 2023 Nigeria elections. These new PDP campaign vehicles were said to be well branded and 25 in total. The vehicles were reportedly unveiled on October 24 at the PDP campaign council secretariat along Woji road in the GRA, Port Harcourt.
Press reports confirmed that the Rivers State PDP christened their new campaign council “New Rivers Vision Consolidation Project”. The chairman of the council is Governor Wike while the director-general is Chief Felix Obuah – the former PDP chairman in Rivers.
Below is a Twitter video showing Governor Wike addressing the issue of Atiku’s missing photo on the new PDP campaign vehicles.
Wike Reveals Why Atiku Is Not On Rivers Campaign Poster— thegramng (@thegramng) October 24, 2022
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has revealed why he removed the picture of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku, from the Rivers State campaign poster. pic.twitter.com/CPtEitAz3n
From the above video, it appears that presidential candidate – Atiku’s photos were also omitted from all PDP campaign posters in Rivers State. Nonetheless, the governor of Rivers State – Ezenwo Nyesom Wike took his time to explain the reasons behind the omission of Atiku’s photo. Governor Wike revealed that he is not pleased with a recent approach which Atiku Abubakar used in setting up his presidential campaign team. This explanation seems sufficient to understand why Atiku’s photos were not printed on the newly-launched PDP campaign vehicles in Rivers State.
