The children have been identified as 3-year-old Oliseh, 6-year-old Daniel and 8-year-old Destiny. According to media reports, the kids suffocated while playing inside the parked Hyundai Accent car with registration number BG404CL. This incident happened on Thursday, June 2 at Gbamire Street in Owode Elede as the kids were unable to find their way out of the vehicle. Reports claim that the children went to another compound where they ended up in the parked vehicle. However, they got stuck and were later found by people who came around to visit the owner of the vehicle in question.
From eyewitness reports, nobody knew the Lagos kids were trapped inside the car until the arrival of the vehicle owner's visitors. The source added that the corpses of the children were eventually brought out around 7 pm. Their mother Lorita Azibato, who resides at number 2, Gbamire Street, wasn’t around when her children were brought out of the car. The police had to wait for her arrival as they were unable to reach her on the phone. Their mother eventually arrived at 11:30 pm where they broke the sad news to her. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who is the police spokesperson in the state, confirmed this story. He said the officers reported to the scene after they received the information around 7 pm on that fateful day. He added that the detectives were able to evacuate the bodies to the morgue and sealed the scene for more investigation.
