The government of Oyo State seem to be highly dedicated to ensuring proper traffic management across the state. A new report claim that the Oyo traffic agency (OYRTMA) has now deployed more officials to Ogbomosho via new commands established recently. This is highly commendable because Ogbomosho is undoubtedly one of the biggest cities in Oyo State with a huge daily traffic flow.
OYRTMA chairman in Oyo State has confirmed the establishment of new commands in Ogbomosho to improve traffic management
Dr Akin Fagbemi, the Exec Chairman of OYRTMA has confirmed in his recent public statement that the agency now has new commands established in Ogbomosho. He made this disclosure during his visit on Tuesday (Jan 11) to one of the four new OYRTMA commands in Ogbomosho. It is worth mentioning that the popular Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho has one of the new OYRTMA commands.

Based on Dr Akin Fagbemi’s statement, the government of Oyo State has given OYRTMA a mandate of effective operation across Oyo State. The mandate charges the agency to ensure proper traffic management in every location within the state rather than just one area. This is said to be the motivation behind the creation of new commands in strategic Ogbomosho zones. According to the new records, there are now 5 specialized OYRTMA commands in just Ogbomosho alone. It is believed that the operations of OYRTMA will help reduce all sorts of traffic-related crime. Officials of the traffic agency are expected to impound motorcycles and vehicles that are not properly registered. Similarly, they will be clamping down on stubborn drivers that usually drive against “One-Way” traffic lanes. With all these efforts, the agency expects its activities in Ogbomosho to help reduce road crashes and maintain proper traffic flow.
