The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed that four adults and a girl died in Anambra State in a recent fatal road accident that happened on the night of Sunday 4th September 2022. Also, the FRSC stated overspeeding as the cause of this Anambra car crash that killed five persons. The shocking accident reportedly occurred in the Enugu-Agidi area along Awka-Enugu Expressway in Anambra State. The unfortunate road incident involved two vehicles; an unregistered red truck and a black Lexus SUV with registration number KJA 182 HS. Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, who happens to be the Anambra FRSC sector commander has confirmed this incident in a recent public statement.

The Anambra FRSC sector commander revealed that Overspeeding and loss of control were responsible for the recent accident that claimed 5 lives on Sunday. It was also stated by an eyewitness report that the truck driver was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle and rammed it into the Lexus SUV. As a result, a female child, three male adults and a female adult were killed in this tragic auto crash. According to further traffic reports, the rescue team from the FRSC acted swiftly on the report of a possible road accident and rushed the victims to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Hospital in Amaka, Awka.
Unfortunately, the victims were all declared dead by the doctors on duty. Their corpses had been deposited at the morgue. So far, there is no information on whether there was any survivor in the crash or not. While commiserating with the families of the deceased, the Anambra FRSC Sector Commander warned truck drivers and other road users to refrain from speeding and going against the prescribed speed limit. By doing so, he believes the road will be safer for everyone.
