Emorua made his first appearance in court on the 29th of January, 2018, before Justice Isiaka Adeleke, on 2 counts of armed robbery and conspiracy.
According to a further report, his trial lasted for 3 years where he was found guilty of all allegations levied against him. As a result, he was sentenced by the sitting judge to death for his involvement in such heinous crime.
Motani Sokefun, who is the lead prosecution counsel from the Ministry of Justice, informed the court that Emorua and his other gang members, robbed a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of kerosene, which is said to belong to Ismaila Azeez. This event, according to the prosecution, took place in Osu, on the Ilesa-Akure Expressway, around 5:30 pm on the 7th of May, 2015.
Barely a few weeks after the first robbery, the defendant with his gang also robbed another truck laden with fuel right on the same spot. Sokefun added that the police team was able to pinpoint their location, where 2 of them were arrested. According to him, the victim of the first robbery came forward and identified Emorua as one of the people that robbed him.

According to the defendant’s lawyer, the accused was a mechanic who came to Ilesa to repair a vehicle day before the robbery incident. Aworele disclosed that he was arrested by the policemen while returning to Ore in Ondo State.
Unfortunately for the car mechanic, the justice found the case proven beyond a reasonable doubt by the prosecution team and sentenced him to death by hanging. The other members of his gang are presently at large.
