A commercial bike rider identified as Emmanuel Okoro has been arrested in Ejigbo, Lagos and indicted for physically assaulting a police officer assigned to control traffic congestion at NNPC Junction Ejigbo.
The bike man was driving one way and was flagged down by the police officer
Information gathered by Naijauto says traffic had built up at the NNPC Junction late in the evening, which necessitated the Divisional Police Officer of Ejigbo police command, CSP Okwuobi to take some officers to the junction to control the traffic.
While the police officers were on duty, Emmanuel the bike rider was caught riding against the traffic and then flagged down. When he came down from his bike, he assaulted the officer so he wouldn't be arrested. The report said the Okada rider beat up the policeman and in the process, cut his necklace.
Following his actions, he was arrested and brought before an Ejigbo magistrate court for attacking the police officer whose name was given as Sgt.Iiyasu Adamu.

Traffic congestion is a major challenge in Lagos state, giving rise to various other issues
The bike rider pleaded guilty to the charges against him and the prosecutor, Kenneth Asibor, requested that stringent bail condition be given to the accused.
Mr. Teslim Shomade, the prosecuting magistrate, granted him bail in the sum of 200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the matter to December 2, 2019.
