According to a new report, the Ondo State Government has retrieved three vehicles from the custody of one Agboola Ajayi, who was one time a deputy governor in the state. The recovered vehicles in question include a V8 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV and two 2019 Toyota Hilux vans.

Donald Ojogo, who happens to be the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, while confirming this story in a statement on Monday 26th of April 2021, revealed that all efforts are on to retrieve any remaining vehicle still in possession of the former deputy governor. He also disclosed the gratitude of the incumbent administration to the security agencies for their intervention.
The recovery of these vehicles came after the state government requested the intervention of the police in taking back the government vehicles that were in the custody of the former deputy governor two months after he left office.

This development was contained in a letter to Mr Bolaji Salami, who is the Commissioner of Police in the state, signed by Dr Doyin Odebowale, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties and Strategy.
Odebowale decried the refusal of Ajayi to let go of four government vehicles in his possession despite leaving office almost two months ago. According to him, all entreaties to the former deputy governor to return the vehicles for the use of the person occupying the position presently were rebuffed by him.
It was also made known in the document that keeping of government property for personal use and refusal to allow the rightful person to use it, is illegal and considered stealing.
