Iliyasu happened to be plying the road at the time of the accident. Upon seeing the accident scene, he ordered his convoy to stop, so they could give the victims a helping hand.

The Commissioner was simply being a good citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigerian by this humanitarian gesture. Unknown to him, victims of the accident were Mr. Mukaila O. Dosunmu who is the Head of Treasury/ Accountant General of Ogun State Government and his wife who were on their way back from their children’s school before the accident occurred.

Recognizing the Accountant General and his wife, the Commissioner took them to the hospital in his car so they would receive proper treatment.

According to the Ogun State Government Public Relations Officer (PRO) Prince Samuel Obinuga, the vehicle which the Accountant General and his wife were driving in was a ghost of itself due to the sever nature of the accident. Fortunately, the couple came out of the horrible experience alive without much injury.

Indeed, the Commissioner put up a good example for other citizens to emulate. His act of kindness turned out to be in the benefit of the state as one of the victims was an official of the state. When you make the effort to render assistance, you might be doing that to one of your own.
