If you own an unregistered vehicle or motorcycle in Ogun State, it is high time you get it off the road and take your time to have it properly registered. You should really take this advice seriously because a recent update released by the Ogun state police command states that its personnel will begin impounding unregistered motorcycle and cars seen on the road. The update also revealed that the exercise will be carried out all over Ogun State and this simply means “no place to hide” for culprits.
Ogun State police command says that it will start to impound unregistered cars and motorcycles across the state
This new update was conveyed in a recently issued press release by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi the PPRO of Ogun State police command as he decries the increasing rate of heinous crimes involving unregistered vehicles in the state. According to the press release, many criminals have been caught in recent times committing several atrocities across the state with unregistered cars and motorcycles. DSP Oyeyemi also recounted that unknown gunmen used unregistered Lexus SUV to block an ICT lecturer who was recently assassinated in Itori Area of the Ogun State.
The update released by the Ogun State police command also highlighted that cars fitted with tinted glasses will be required to present the government-approved permit in order to move freely in the state. The updates stated that motorist can walk into the department of operations at any police division to get a tinted glass permit if needed. Similarly, the police warned that people using artificial “tinted” glasses should remove it henceforth or else they will be prosecuted when caught.
While the Nigerian police are making moves to ensure adequate security on Ogun state roads, some residents are also clamouring for the rehabilitation of community roads. Below is a video from last month when some #RevolutionNow protesters called on the state govt to help fix the bad roads in Atan-Ota area.
