As the fight to curb the spread of COVID-19 continues in Nigeria, more private bodies and organizations in each state are showing good support for the government like never before. Recently, the Natural Oil Field Services (NOSL) and Nigeria Petroleum Development Corporation (NPDC) donated medical supplies and an ambulance to the government of Akwa Ibom State in support of COVID-19 fight.

According to reports, the donated ambulance is well-equipped with standard features that include;

  • Surgical gown
  • Examination gloves
  • Zinc Oxide adhesive strip plaster
  • Surgical face mask
  • Stretcher

The NOSL and NPC reportedly presented these items to the government of Akwa Ibom at the statehouse. In the reports, Mansor Sambo – the Managing director of NPDC was represented in the presentation ceremony by David Arijoba who is the current Deputy Manager of NPDC.

It is no more debatable for each state in Nigeria that its top private companies, firms, and organizations in general, have a huge role to play in this fight to eradicate the deadly Coronavirus in our nation. Private companies in states like Lagos which is the epicenter of the pandemic have been greatly supporting the government in the fight. One of such support is the recent ₦20 million, ambulance, and 50,000 facemasks donated by GAC Motors chairman, Diana Chen.

Other small private business owners in Nigeria are even beginning to lament as they keep running into huge losses amidst the government-imposed lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
