The NNP has introduced six different vehicle engine oil products into the market to cater to Nigerian motorists. The products are ostensibly the best!

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) through its sister agency the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Retail Limited has begun selling some Made-in-Nigeria engine oil products, catering to the vehicle needs of motorists across the country.

Good engine oil keeps vehicles in good condition

Addressing the Press in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on March 1, 2020, Billy Okoye – Managing Director of the organization, stated that the products were proudly made by Nigerians in Nigeria. He revealed that the products were six in number namely Nitro Diamond, Nitro Super 40, Nitro Gold, Nitro 2 engine oil, Rhino HD and Rhino X. He was confident in the effectiveness of the products, stating that they were made from the best additives on the planet.

Speaking on the reasons behind creating the lubricants, Okoye stated that the company observed that the numerous problems encountered by motorists on roads were as a result of poor engine maintenance. And the maintenance deficiency was an offshoot of bad engine oil usage. Moved by this problem, the agency went into research with the goal of producing products that would be satisfying.

According to the manager, the products were officially unveiled in November 2019. In line with industry practice, they were subjected to testing to ascertain their effectiveness. If they did not deliver expected results, they would not be released into the market. But expectedly, results from the product testing were very pleasing. Following the successful outcome, they have been certified to be of good quality, and are highly recommended.

“The NNPC lubricants were formulated using carefully selected world-class base oil and performance additives to give all-year-round excellent performance in normal and arduous engine working conditions.

“Series of tests were carried out from December (2019) to February and we are proud to announce to Nigerians that the lubricants have been successfully tested and certified to be the best in the industry today.”
