New photos and reports confirm that some sections of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road have now been successfully completed by Julius Berger Nigeria Ltd. Anyone familiar with how much the road transport industry contributes to the Nigerian economy will appreciate this ongoing Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project. When the road is completed, it will become a very crucial part of the Nigerian highway system that helps connect the Northern parts of the country to the South. Over the course of the week, we found some nice photos that specifically shows the new look of the Birnin Yero section of this road project in Kaduna State.

This ongoing Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project will not only connect Northern Nigeria to the South but also help unite the different tribes as well as aid the transportation of goods. As a matter of fact, the road will also help connect Nigeria to other North African countries by becoming a part of the comprehensive road network which also includes the Lagos-Algiers Trans-African expressway. All the currently available photos and reports clearly show that Julius Berger construction company is definitely making huge progress as rehabilitation works continue on this 375.9-km road.

Press reports claim that Julius Berger has adopted “cold recycling” methodology to continuously deliver value-driven solutions in the reconstruction of this Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway. Experts say that the “cold recycling” method is efficient, innovative and also safe for the environment because it involves recycling parts of the old road to reconstruct the new one.
It is worth mentioning that even though so much progress has been achieved so far on the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway, the Nigerian Senate committee still feels dissatisfied with the slow pace of the project.
Below is a press video from a few months ago when the Senate committee expressed their disappointment about the slow pace of construction works on the crucial road project.
