New reports have it that the Tochigi Prefectural department of Japan’s Police force has just been given a brand-new Lexus LC 500 sports car. This luxury coupe Lexus model is so expensive that it can make a typical Nigerian police officer highly jealous.
According to media reports, the new Japanese police car carries a starting price tag of ₦35.2 million ($92,300) and then an extra ₦63.5 million (17.4 million yen) which was also spent on customizing it to be fit for police use. Unbelievable, isn’t it?
Many Nigerian police officers would be surprised that Japan is set to be using this ₦99 million Lexus coupe as an operational vehicle
Most international media sources claim that apart from this new Lexus LC 500 coupe, the Japanese police also boasts of having a Nissan Skyline R34, Honda NSX and a Nissan GT-R in their fleet of patrol cars.
Even though this is quite amazing, it shouldn’t be too surprising because Japan itself as a nation is home to some of the world’s most popular and successful car brands like Lexus, Nissan, Honda and Toyota. As a matter of fact, this expensive new Lexus LC 500 coupe was not purchased but rather donated to the Japanese Police force by Lexus itself.
The Lexus LC 500 coupe is a very beautiful luxury sports coupe that comes with a 5.0-litre powerful V8 engine which produces a decent 471hp and 398 pound-feet of torque. It is also capable of accelerating from zero to 62mph in just 4.4 seconds. The vehicle is rated to have a 168mph top speed which is more than enough to chase down law-breakers.
