We always believe that the youths are the driving engine of any economy. Naijauto is excited to inform you about the upcoming Automotive Design Challenge, set to be organized by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).
From what we learnt so far, the sole purpose of this challenge will be to open doors of opportunities for youths all over the country, in showcasing their true potentials in terms of creativity and tenacity. The Nigerian youths will also be afforded the chance to get guidance and support for the development of the automotive sector of the country.
Every Nigerian from 18 to 40 years old is eligible for the NADDC's Automotive Design Challenge
1. Announcements from NADDC
Mr. Jelani Aliyu, who happens to be the Director General of NADDC and chief designer of popular Chevrolet Volt, recently said:
“This is the perfect opportunity for those talented Nigerians out there to be part of that dynamic future in the Nigerian automotive and transportation sector”.
It has been reported that the challenge is exclusively open up to showcasing of talents on mini-tractors and mini-taxis. As we all know, the agency, NADDC, is a parastatal within the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

2. Requirements for the NADDC Automotive Design Challenge
To apply for this talent initiative designed by the NADDC, you must be between the ages of 18 – 40 years. The official platform for registration will open from the 21st of October to 21st of November, 2019.
For the contest, it comes in two sections: the first is the design of Nigeria Applicable Intra-City Mini Taxi and the second part is the cost-effective Mini Tractor.
