Chaos erupted recently in an estate area of Lagos state as commercial bike riders attacked personnel of the police task force that tried to impound their motorcycles. The motorcycle (Okada) riders vandalized the patrol vans of the taskforce officials and even ended up killing two police officers in the process. Reports claim that the clash was extremely terrifying and bloody at Ajao Estate.

According to media reports, one of the officers killed during this recent attack was a Superintendent of Police. The reports narrated that the taskforce officials were actually trying to impound the motorcycles of riders that flouted the Lagos state traffic laws when they were attacked. The horrifying incident reportedly occurred along the popular Asa Afariogun road in Ajao Estate, Lagos. Several sources claim that the angry Okada riders mobilized themselves and outnumbered the taskforce officials, thus it was very easy for them to disarm the policemen and use their firearms to kill the two officers. Quite shocking, isn’t it?
The Guardian Newspaper reported that the Okada riders in Ajao Estate also went ahead to attack a nearby police station with the firearms they had stolen from the officers they initially attacked along the road. As a matter of fact, several police officers were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries during this “barbaric” attack launched by angry Okada riders. Similarly, a few police vans were said to have been vandalized and utterly destroyed during the attack.
