From a new report reaching us, the Dutch Bellator martial artist, Robin van Roosmalen, was recently involved in a horrific car accident last Wednesday in his home country, the Netherlands.

According to report, his 29-year-old sister Melissa lost her life as a result of the severe injuries she suffered in the crash. So far, no further information has been revealed on the condition of the MMA fighter and GLORY veteran.

We were made to understand that van Roosmalen in the company of his sister was stopped on the road when they ended up being hit by an oncoming truck. Following this unfortunate crash, the police had arrested the driver behind the wheel of this truck.
His managers at Paradigm Sports Agency also released a statement on Instagram about the accident:
Van Roosmalen was a middle-weight class kickboxing champion before his full transition into MMA and also making the move to join the roster at Bellator MMA. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to make his debut prior to testing positive to Covid-19 and also failure to make weight in his first fight in 2020.
