During the last weekend, Mr Timipre Sylva - the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources handed over 5 brand-new ambulances to the SGF of Nigeria, Mr Boss Mustapha to help fight the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. This gesture was expressed by Mr Mele Kyari, the Group MD of NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation) as marking the first part or installment of the ₦21billion industry collective donation.

These ambulances are said to have been donated by an NNPC Joint venture company partner named Aiteo Exploration & Production Company Limited.
When handing over these ambulances to the Nigeria SGF, Mr Timipre Sylva said that the leadership of NNPC is has brought together stakeholders in the oil & gas industry to contribute their quota in fighting this COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
While conducting officials round on the 190-bed equipped facility that was also donated by the Nigeria Petroleum Industry, Mr Mele Kyari disclosed that the “ThisDay Dome” in Abuja which is meant to house these bed-spaces was as well donated by an NNPC partner. In a part of his speech, he said;
“Aside from consignments of medical consumables and logistics facilities, we are embarking on construction of at least two permanent hospitals and a world class diagnostics centres in each of the geopolitical zones in the country. All these are over and above our regular social investments through various CSR initiatives,"
