According to news reports, this sad incident happened on Saturday in Idah, which is the headquarters of Igala Kingdom.
Hilary Edime Amodu, who happens to be the current Chief Administrator of Idah Local Government, confirmed the authencity of this news by disclosing the cause for such occurrence, which he said was due to the driver’s reckless nature during the campaign.
“A Mercedes G-Wagon belonging to one of the governorship candidates in [the November 16] Kogi State election ran into a portacabin at Igala-Ogba, Idah, opposite Idakwo Park, killing all the occupants”.
We also learnt that the driver and other occupants of this Mercedes G-wagon are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed location. They are reported to be in critical condition as we write.
The incident was also confirmed by Mr. Faruk Adejoh, who is the Publicity Secretary of the Musa Wada/Aro Campaign Organization. According to him, instead of the claim that 4 people died, only 2 died while 1 is presently in the hospital, severely injured.

Mr. Faruk Adejoh said:
“Yes, there was an accident. A vehicle on the campaign trail veered off the road and ran into a kiosk and killed two people, while one other person was critically injured and receiving treatment in the hospital”.
He further said:
“Accidents do happen, but it is sheer mischief for anyone to ascribe it to recklessness. No one prays for such calamity.”
Mr. Faruk also debunked the claim that similar incident occurred 2 weeks ago, which claimed two people’s lives. He said those people were attacked by the thugs from the opposition party, APC to be precise.
“On our way back from Ankpa on that day, suspected thugs loyal to APC attacked us, and two of our supporters were shot dead,”
