Mercedes is not slowing down on its mission to dominate the automotive industry in Nigeria. Reiterating its commitment to provide a memorable driving experience to the people, the automaker has facilitated the arrival of the brand new Mercedes CLA – a compact car with a difference.
Arrival of the CLA was announced by Weststar Associates Limited – an official distributor of the Mercedes-Benz brand in the country. The CLA has the potential to be a success as it rides on the coattails of the First Generation which did very well on the market, recording sales of 750,000 units across the globe.
The CLA is not an entirely new design. It is an advanced version of its predecessor. It took some outstanding features of the First Generation, and improved on them, creating a better product. Some changes seen in the CLA from its predecessor include addition of powerdomes to the bonnet moving the line plate in the rear downwards.
Changes were made to the CLA to make it better than its predecessor
Passengers are given more space in the interior of the CLA compared to that of its predecessor. Particularly, there is a 17 mm increase in the headroom and 35 mm increase in the elbow room. Moving around with stuff is not a problem as the trunk has been made bigger by an additional 262 mm.

Creating more entertainment for passengers, an upgrade was made to the infotainment system highlighting two key features right in the MBUX. The media display is touch-screen technology and the instrument cluster has 7-inch displays.
There's more room in the interior
The CLA comes equipped with the high tech Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), programmed to take commands from operating movements. The various functions of the MBUX have been made more effective by this. The ride is supercharged with its four-cylinder engine that is powered by petrol.
There is nothing not to love about the exterior. So attractive, it is referred to by many as the de facto standard of modern car exterior design. The four-door coupe has headlamps that are flat, well complemented by the daytime lamps. The face has a sporty design, thanks to the diamond-like radiator grille.

The trunk has adequate space for things
The automaker also makes available its bespoke “Hey Mercedes” voice technology which offers assistance to passengers by processing their inquiries. It has been upgraded to take complex queries that could not be processed before now.
Going against its counterparts in the compact category, the CLA is easily the brightest star with its futuristic technology. Are you interested in acquiring it? You do not need to go too far as it is now available in Nigeria.
