This vintage Benz model was first introduced on the 26th of November 1984 from Stuttgart as the earlier W 124 saloons in Seville, Spain and later into the general auto market by December of that same year. Then, it was rolled out in series with different body shapes in subsequent years as:
- Estate (S 124) – 1985
- Coupe (C 124) – 1987
- Long Wheelbase Saloon (V 124) – 1989
- Cabriolet (A 124) – 1991
- and other chassis for special bodies
In the year 1993, this Mercedes-Benz model series remarkably became the 1st generation of the brand’s upper executive segment to actually carry the E-Class name signature. The 400 E and 500 E with V8 engine were the most sort-after models alongside the Mercedes-AMG performance versions and the elegant 2-door versions also.
The Mercedes-Benz “V-Boot” models were undoubtedly among the best luxury and most popular cars that graced the Nigerian streets back in the days.
