Last weekend, some families were thrown into deep mourning when a Medical doctor and 4 others died in Ogun as a truck collided with a Mazda car. The shocking incident occurred on Saturday, June 25 at around 3:45 pm along the busy Abeokuta – Sagamu expressway. Traffic reports have it that three other victims of the incident survived with varying degrees of injuries.

The spokesperson of the Ogun State traffic management agency (TRACE) has confirmed this heartbreaking incident to newsmen. He revealed that the fatal crash occurred at the Day Waterman turning on the ever-busy Abeokuta to Sagamu road. The spokesperson of TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed that a particular Mazda car and a Howo Sino truck were involved in the ghastly accident. The Mazda car is said to be fitted with the plate number KRD 975-HJ while the truck was having a plate number T-14214 LA.
Mr Akinbiyi actually disclosed that the Howo truck driver caused this fatal crash by driving recklessly on the road. He narrated that the truck driver was one who made a very dangerous U-turn without even observing other vehicles on the road. Similarly, the Mazda car was also driving at high speed when the truck turned; hence the reason why the Mazda car rammed into the truck.

A total of nine people were involved in the recent Ogun accident but only three persons survived with serious injuries. Five victims died and among them was a medical doctor whose name is said to be Joko Oriyomi Shedrack. As of the time of writing this report, the driver of the truck is said to be on the run.
