Tragedy struck last Sunday in Anambra State as many people were feared dead after a petrol tanker and a bus collided at Nkwere Junction, beside Onitsha, on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

According to a report from a reliable source, the unfortunate incident happened around 6:30 pm. The auto crash was also confirmed by one Andrew Kumapayi, who happens to be the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State.
Meanwhile, this year has been riddled with lots of road crashes that have claimed many lives. Just recently, at least seven people lost their lives in a ghastly road accident when a truck crashed into a tricycle in Ogun State.
The rescue team from the agency was mobilized to the scene to offer help to the accident victims
Kumapayi revealed that the fatal road crash which involved a bus owned by CDO Transport Company took place around the Nkwere Junction in the state. According to him, the rescue team from Nteje unit of the FRSC was deployed immediately to the scene of the accident, to offer assistance to those involved in the accident.

The state’s FRSC sector commander disclosed that the number of people involved in this accident couldn’t be ascertained yet at the time the agency received the report. However, it seems the auto crash claimed many casualties as many bodies were spotted on the road at the scene of the crash.
