According to the latest report getting to us, a 20-year-old man identified as Ismaila Tahiru, has been remanded in prison by the Ile-Ife Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing a Bajaj motorcycle.

From what we learnt, the offence was said to have been committed by Tahiru on the 11th of October 2019 at Temidire area of Ile-Ife, Osun State. The incident took place at 10:04 am.

The stolen motorcycle was said to belong to one Peter Ogunleye, valued at ₦290,000. Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, who is the prosecutor for the theft case, informed the court on how the accused stole the motorcycle with number registration FEE 723 QE.
From what he said, this offence is against Section 390(9) of the Osun State Criminal Code of 2002. Tahiru, however, pleaded not guilty to the case of theft levied against him before the court.

The presiding Judge, Magistrate Adewunmi Oyebadejo, in his ruling, refused to grant bail to the accused person. In light of this, the magistrate asked the accused to be kept at the Correctional Centre in Ile-Ife. The case was adjourned for further hearing till 27th of January 2021, for ruling on the bail application.
