When you leave a classic car parked in your garage for a long time and suddenly pick it up one day to show off, expect “unprecedented” consequences. Oh yes, that your show off ride will mostly not end well because those old cars were never made to be parked or abandoned for a long period of time. This point is proven by a video currently going viral online which shows the moment when the brakes of a 1966 Corvette Stingray failed after a man tried to show it off to his daughter’s boyfriend.

This incident actually occurred a few months ago but the footage from the home CCTV camera that captured it was only released on YouTube recently by a popular channel called ViralHog. According to the video uploader, the 1966 Corvette Stingray seen in the video had been parked in the home garage for 6 months before this incident. The uploader narrated that the owner of the vintage car drove it out of the garage to show off to his daughter’s boyfriend but when driving it to his upstairs garage, things went wrong. As he was cruising down the driveway to the garage, he tried matching the brakes to stop the car but it never worked and just like that, the car ended up crashing into the wooden fences.
Below is the viral CCTV footage that captured the incident.

From the above video, we could clearly see that the beautiful vintage car ended up sustaining some serious damages while the man’s garage will also need a little bit of fixing. It is quite an unfortunate turn by accident but at the same time a reminder that we shouldn’t trust old cars that have been parked for a long time.
