You might be just as surprised as some of us here at Naijauto on seeing this headline. But believe it or not, the German car manufacturer Audi has now asked most of Barcelona’s soccer stars, including Messi to return each of their freebie cars as their last sponsorship deal (Camp Nou) has already ended since the 30th of June 2019.

For those of you unaware; most Barcelona soccer players usually get a brand-new Audi car when signed to the club and they use these Audi cars for their daily commute “to” and “from” Barcelona’s training ground. Once these cars are returned back, Audi sells them as second-hand in the auto market to interested buyers.

The last year 2018, Lionel Messi and some other selected top players of the club were given the choice to select a top range Audi model they love as part of a sponsorship deal between Barcelona FC and Audi.

Luis Suarez, the former Liverpool star and Lionel Messi had chosen a black Audi RS 6 Avant that worth a whopping £130,000 (₦58.5 million) while a £192,000 (₦86.8 million) R8 Coupe was Sergio Busquets’ choice.

Audi does not only have this deal with Barcelona alone but also with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as well and have also given the same 3-week deadline to all of the affected players as a grace period for returning these freebie supercars.
