Fresh reports have it that Alhaji Abubakar Kabir, the Chairman of Lagos state’s NASS committee on Works has recently guaranteed that all the road projects across the state will be completed before 2023. He pledged that the NASS committee is devoted to ensuring adequate funding of all the ongoing road projects as well as their timely completion within the next 2 years from now.

Local media sources claim that Alhaji Abubakar Kabir gave this new update via his public statement during a recent inspection tour carried out at several road project sites across Lagos state on Sunday, May 30. Alhaji Kabir stressed that Lagos State particularly deserves better roads because it contributes in a huge way to both Nigeria’s economy and that of West Africa as a whole. He also explained that the recent oversight by NASS is aimed at addressing technical and funding issues that are currently affecting the fast completion of road projects in Lagos state.
According to media reports, Alhaji Abubakar Kabir said that the NASS Committee on Works will help President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure completion of all the ongoing road projects in Lagos state before the 29th of May 2023 when his tenure will end. He further explained that special attention is currently being given to Lagos state road projects because the state alone hosts a majority of the most important airports, seaports and other infrastructures powering Nigeria’s economy. Alhaji Kabir also spoke on the proposed rehabilitation of the Eko bridge as he promises to ensure quality work is being done by the contractors.
