A LASTMA official on duty, Amos Adebisi, was one of the most recent victims. He was attacked by a hit and run driver over the weekend, sustaining injuries on his arms and face from the accident.

According to reports, Adebisi had arrested a rider of O-Pay, a motorcycle-riding service company. On his way to the LASTMA office in Oshodi to keep the impounded motorcycle, a bus ran into him along the Idi-Iroko area of Ikorodu Road. He became unconscious from the accident, and the driver sped off before he could be apprehended. Some Good Samaritans who witnessed the incident came to his rescue, rushing him to the Isolo General Hospital.

Naijauto gathered that, following the accident, the O-Pay rider seized the opportunity to retrieve his motorcycle.

LASTMA is on a hunt of both the escapist driver and the O-Pay rider. Adebisi was said to be responding to treatment at the hospital.

Similarly, a LASTMA official, Ola Oyeshina, passed on last Saturday after he was attacked by 2 truck drivers in Apapa.

Toyin Fayinka, Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu on transportation, has frowned against attacks on security personnel. According to him, such acts are dastardly.
