There would not be a boast to say Nigerians are hardworking, smart, and innovative. The example below can attest to that adage.
This is what was spotted in a commercial bus in the city of Mowe-Ibafo. There was nothing strange until I caught sight of something similar to a gas tank under my seat. As the bus stopped to get filled up at a station. Our curiosity started to arise when the driver picked gas instead of petrol to replenish his tank. We couldn’t help asking him why he was doing that.

Finally we got the answer. He explained about the modalities as the fuel scarcity problem is killing their business. Therefore, they needed to take actions to spend less. The bus was equipped with an injector engine and with only N900's worth of gas to fill up, his vehicle can shuttle between Lagos and Mowe 3 times even there’s traffic. What a saving strategy, isn’t it?!

Now just do a math, with all 15 seats occupied and at N200 per person, that would be (200 * 15) * 2) for to and fro. So that would be N600 each trip. If he drives 3 times/day, he will make N18,000 with a fuel cost of N900.
Let’s check out some photos I took of this efficient commercial bus down below.
