The Police have arrested and paraded 93 suspected kidnappers terrorizing motorists along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. Check out their individual faces!

The Police have revealed the faces of 93 suspected kidnappers who operated along Kaduna-Abuja road and terrorized unsuspecting victims in Katsina, Kaduna and Niger States. Following the arrest of these hoodlums, the force recovered 35 AK47 rifles, 500 live ammunition, 21 Dane guns, rocket launcher and a host of other weapons.

During a parade of the suspects in the Katari village area along Kaduna-Abuja road, Frank Mba, Force spokesman DCP, disclosed that their arrest was done in the past two weeks through joint operations in Katsina, Niger and Kaduna states. He said their arrest was made possible by Operation Puff Adder, an initiative geared toward forcing criminals out of the expressway and the entire country.

Mba further stated that the successful joint operation was made up of officers from intelligence, counter-terrorism, technical, special protection and operations units with the aim of waging war against banditry, robbery and kidnapping.

“The suspects were arrested from Matari forest, Niger axis and some were pursued to as far as Katsina.

“We are determined to descend very hard on criminals. We recovered 37 AK 47 rifles, 12 locally made guns, a revolver pistol, 60,000 fake US dollars, military uniforms and a foreign made pistol,” he said.

The Abuja-Kaduna expressway is among the most dangerous roads in Nigeria

Speaking further, the spokesman disclosed that supportive and supervisory roles were provided by the Inspector General of Police office.

Also present at the location was the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, Aji Ali Janga. He gave farmers in Birnin Gwari and environs assurances that it was safe for them to go back to their farms as those terrorizing the areas had be arrested. “Farmers who farm along Kaduna-Abuja expressway, Birnin Gwari and other volatile areas can go back to their farms. They are now safe,” he said.
