When getting a number plate or vehicle papers in Nigeria, it is recommended that you do your due diligence to avoid patronizing quacks. New reports have it that Kano Police recently arrested three men for making fake vehicle documents. SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesperson of Kano State police confirmed this arrest in his recent public statement. He disclosed the identity of the suspects and gave more info on their case.
These are the three men recently arrested in Kano State for issuing “fake” vehicle papers to car owners
Kiyawa revealed in his statement that the three men were actually arrested as part of a different case of car theft. The police spokesperson said that three other suspects including a certain Odinaka Godwin were initially arrested for suspected car theft. A total of 10 vehicles and 9 number plates were found in the possession of these other suspects. It was during the further investigation of the case that the police got hold of the three new suspects arrested for fake vehicle papers. These new adult male suspects were identified as Suleman Ibrahim, Abdullahi Suleman and 57yrs-old Abdulra’uf Olalade. Their faces were shown when the Kano State police paraded them.

The police in Kano State disclosed that ten vehicles have been recovered so far during its investigation into the recent car theft case. A total of seven out of these vehicles have now been returned to their rightful owners. However, three others are still left in police custody till now. The police command has now issued a public notice informing people to come to claim the vehicles if it's their own.
