The Kano State police command has arrested a syndicate of car snatchers who have been terrorizing Kano residents. The suspected gang members nabbed were four in number.
The DSP Abdullahi Haruna, a spokesman of the command, disclosed the arrest to newsmen. He said that on the 21st November 2019, the Operation Puff Adder team of Anti-Daba headed by DSP Muhammed were on duty, patrolling the Sabon Gari Area, when they arrested one 19-year-old Usman Aminu while he was making an attempt to unlock and steal a grey Toyota Corolla car with a master key.
Five different master keys were recovered from the suspects
Naijauto learned that the patrol team recovered several master keys numbering five from the suspect, including some instruments used for breaking into a car.
On interrogation, the car robber confessed to being part of a gang of car snatchers who have been terrorizing the residents of Kano.
DSP Haruna pointed out that three other gang members were apprehended at various hideouts across the state. He added that investigations have begun to recover the stolen cars and other motorcycles snatched by them as well.
The police spokesman solicited for the cooperation of the citizens with regards to timely information on crime-related issues.
