COVID-19: Nigeria’s indigenous automaker, Innoson Motors donates ambulance and relief materials to Anambra state

As the crisis caused by recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Nigeria keeps on deepening, we see the government as well as private sectors coming to the aid of citizens in battling the sudden pandemic. As Anambra state records its index case; Nigeria’s foremost automaker – Innoson swung into action by donating ambulance and relief materials to the state immediately.

One could say that Anambra state is lucky as it was listed among beneficiaries last week when President Buhari ordered the release of 150 truckloads of rice to all 36 states in Nigeria. These presidential relief items came in when the state was even yet to record its index case. Now that it has a confirmed COVID-19 case, companies like Innoson operating within the state have become alert and are responding quickly by offering support, unlike other states.

According to reports, Bags of rice meant for villages and poor communities in Anambra state were also among the relief items donated by Innoson motors. The spokesperson for Innoson Motors, Mr Austin Manuel presented the relief items alongside the ambulance on behalf of the company’s CEO – Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma. Also, while presenting the items; Mr Manuel notably called on all other stakeholders within Anambra State to fully support the state government in fighting COVID-19.

Going by these reports, it is obvious that Anambra State should be well-equipped to battle the COVID-19 pandemic if it begins to escalate in the state. And with the donated Innoson ambulance, the state’s COVID-19 health workers should be able to reach patients as quickly as possible.
