Nigeria Air - The new national airline is probably launched in December.

Nigeria used to have its own national airline called Nigeria Airways. It is established in 1958 but has stopped operating in 2003. This airline is 100% owned by Nigerian government.

However, in the latest announcement of Minister of State for Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika confirmed that the state authorities will not take more than 5% of the carrier. Meanwhile, the government is still searching for partners to co-operate and raise up to $300 million (around N108 billion) for initial investment.

Nigeria Air is unveiled on Wednesday

The very first information of Nigeria Air is revealed at exactly 1:18 p.m on Wednesday. The slogan of the new national carrier is “Bringing Nigeria Closer to the World.” The official event of rolling out this airline is highly likely to take place in December this year (according to the government plan).
