There is more to owning the 2019 Mercedes Benz G-Wagon. Do you know how to drive the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon through the mud?

Driving an off-roader vehicle isn't about racing through a rugged road or trudging over rocky terrains thinking the off-roader will handle every road it plies. There are right ways to drive it so it doesn't get stuck.

Mercedes Benz recently posted a video to show owners how to drive the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon through the mud. In a previous article here on Naijauto.comwe already told you that the 2019 G -Wagon has already been sighted in Lagos, so we are glad to present the video showing how to handle the redesigned Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon when driving through the mud so you don't get stuck. Let's check it out!

If you are going to drive through the mud, then watch how to do it

The video demonstration has a running time of 1.35 minutes and is hosted by Jessi Combs who is reported to be the fastest woman as far as a four-wheel drive is concerned.

According to Jessi, if a driver wants to drive through a muddy road, the first step should be to activate the low-range. Any off-roader driver who doesn't use the low-range gear won't drive far but will end up getting stuck in harsh terrains.

The next step is to turn the center, as well as the rear differential lock on (both are standard features built with the G-Wagon). Here also, if a driver will be needing the front differential lock too, that's fine. However, none of them are to be left engaged when driving on smooth roads. The purpose of turning the differential locks on is to distribute power equally to the SUV's four wheels so that there will be no slipping. The differential locks also see that the tyres don't turn at the same rate. And of course, this can cause the axle to bind when the vehicle is turning while driving on dry roads.

The next thing you turn on is the center lock

Jessi advised drivers not to make the mistake of driving too slowly when they are in the mud or driving too fast too. She said the G-Wagon will get stuck when it is driven slowly while controlling the car will become a problem when driven fast. Driving at a steady pace will help the SUV maintain momentum.

And if the vehicle begins slowing down in the mud puddle, then add the throttle gently. When you apply much throttle, it will cause the wheels to spin and then it will end up splashing mud over the place. The vehicle might get stuck in the process.

Keep a steady pace to conquer the mud

Jessi also says the brakes are to be dried off by gently tapping the brake pedal when the driver gets off the mud puddles.

The 2019 G-Wagon is already available and sold in Nigeria. And it is built with a 4.0-liter V8 engine. The engine produces 416 hp and 0-60 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds.
