Lawrence Ajigboye, who happens to be a security guard, has been accused of shooting Obasi Ogbonnaya, a car owner, in his thigh, around Ikorodu area in Lagos recently. The alleged shooter has been apprehended by officers from the Lagos State Police Command.

From what we learnt here on Naijauto, the owner of the vehicle reportedly left his Honda Pilot SUV parked in front of a filling station to attend to something within the area. On his return, Obasi noticed that one of his car’s tyres has been deflated. The car owner angrily inquired around on who actually did this to his tyre. One of the people he demanded answer from was this security guard.
The encounter obviously didn’t end well as Lawrence, who is a senior security guard in the area, brought out his gun and allegedly shot the car owner in his thigh. Obasi was lucky enough to get the attention of people around, who quickly came to rescue by rushing him to the nearest hospital.

The men from the Lagos State Police, Owode-Onirin division, were immediately contacted and mobilized to the crime scene. On getting to the place, they arrested the alleged shooter and confiscated the double-barrelled gun Lawrence allegedly used to commit the crime.

Bala Elkana, who happens to be the Lagos State Police PRO, confirmed the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation. According to him, Obasi was only demanding to know who deflated the tyre of his car when the security guard allegedly shot at him in his right thigh. The victim, however, reported the case to the police after receiving treatment at the nearby hospital.
The state Police PRO said:
“On July 25, 2020, around 1.30pm, one Obasi Ogbonaya, 33, of No. 16 Ogedengbe Street, off Kukoyi Church Street, Alapere, Ketu, reported at the station that around 1pm, he parked his Honda Pilot SUV with number plate SMK 321 EV in front of the Energy filling station, Irawo bus stop, Ikorodu, and left.
