According to official reports, this new filter product from Honda is named the “Kurumaku”. It is described as an antiviral product that can be used as an add-on for cabin air filters of Honda cars to protect car passengers from COVID-19. This type of product is highly essential in a time like this when a new “stubborn” strain of the COVID-19 virus has just been discovered in some countries. Apart from wearing your nose masks while in the car, it is also helpful to have a special cabin air filter set up in your car that serves as an extra layer of protection against airborne diseases.
How does the new Honda “Kurumaku” air filter work?
Well, the Japanese automaker says that the new air filter addon product is capable of catching the COVID-19 virus droplets and trapping it in a way that damages/kills the virus within a short time. The company also revealed that the Kurumaku filter makes use of chemical conversion treatment containing Zinc Phosphate which is mostly used by carmakers to prevent rusting of car parts.
