Yet again another avoidable accident has claimed at least one life in the Ojuelegba area of Surulere Local Government Area, Lagos State. New reports reveal that a Honda Accord driver was killed by a fallen trailer under the Ojuelegba bridge last weekend. The heartbreaking incident reportedly occurred on the night of Saturday, 2nd of April 2022. Reports confirmed that a certain trailer truck fell off the Ojuelegba bridge and landed on a Honda Accord sedan that was underneath the bridge. This incident led to the death of a man who was driving the Honda car at the time.

The identity of the deceased Honda Accord driver is yet to be disclosed but he is said to be a middle-aged man. A certain social media user and eyewitness gave details of this heartbreaking incident on Twitter. He claimed that the incident happened right before his eyes at Ojuelegba in Lagos State. Another Twitter user confirmed that it took more than four hours before rescuers could pull out the Honda Accord driver. Unfortunately, the man was already dead as of the time when the trailer was lifted off his vehicle.

The recent incident involving a fallen trailer in Lagos has been criticized by many Nigerians online. It is quite surprising that a lot of people proffered different solutions that seem to be highly feasible. Many people say that the state government should install railings on the side of the Ojuelegba bridge because it currently has none. Another set of people proffers that the government should ban trailers and trucks from using the bridge till railings are installed.
