From a new report getting us, a gunman shot and killed a woman last Wednesday on City Island, New York. At the time when he was attempting to flee the scene, he was struck by the deceased's lover, who witnessed the entire ordeal. From the information that was revealed recently by the local police, the boyfriend got into his car and mowed down the shooter who was trying to escape on a bike.
The gunman was ran over by the boyfriend after trying to flee from the site
The deceased, 52-year-old Lizbeth Mass was working as a flagger on a construction site in Bronx Island, when the gunman shot at her around 12:30 pm, according to the police.
Surprisingly, people around revealed that the shooter took lunch to Mass almost every day, which was the only thing that brought them together. Mass was reportedly part of the crew in charge of replacing water main close to City Island Ave and City Island Road.

We also learnt that the shooter (aged 66) had a verbal conversation with the victim before he shot a barrage of bullets at her, while attempting to escape the scene by pedaling away on his bicycle.
The 55-year-old boyfriend in retaliation to the murder, hopped into his Hyundai Sonata and ran over the shooter and his bike. The woman was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead after having lost too much blood from the gun wounds.

The police revealed that they have taken the gunman into custody after receiving treatment at the hospital. Charges against him according to the authorities are still pending upon investigation.
