Thursday, July 16th, was a drama-filled day after everyone woke up to news report that some unknown policemen captured the former Acting MD of NDDC, Joy Nunieh in a “house arrest” since 4 am. Later in the day, Governor Wike of Rivers state reportedly stormed the house with his entourage and rescued the woman in his bulletproof BMW 760Li sedan car. Luckily, few media outlets recorded parts of the drama and we were able to get one of the viral videos.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike “rescues” former NDDC Acting MD from house arrest in his bulletproof car
While everyone was still talking about how police seized the bulletproof cars of suspended EFCC boss, Governor Wike’s swift response to rescue former Acting MD of NDDC with his bulletproof car has now become the “talk of the town”.
According to reports, Joy Nunieh was supposed to testify at the National Assembly in an ongoing probe about money laundering within the commission’s executive on the same day of the incident. This probably explains the reason behind the entire drama of her “house arrest” and restriction of movement before Governor Wike came to her rescue in a “grand style”.
Speaking of how Governor Wike rescued the proudly “Port Harcourt” woman, below is one of the viral videos that captured the drama;

For those not familiar with Governor Wike’s special car; it is a bulletproof BMW 760Li sedan with a high level of protection against all sort of possible attacks. This car is actually the first armoured sedan to be approved as fully compliant with the popular VR7 standard ballistic protection. This means that it is capable of withstanding gunshots, grenade attacks, and a certain level of bomb attack as well.
