Just when skeptics are beginning to think that Governor Wike is done with his recent “wave” of gifting official vehicles; the governor has once again donated 4 operational vehicles to the Rivers State Correctional Service.
Reports have it that Governor Wike said he donated the vehicles to the NCS in Rivers State because the lack of proper infrastructure by the Command can actually impede its delivery of justice.

While presenting the 4 new large size prisoner transport vans to the Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), Governor Wike reportedly mentioned that there have been times in the past when criminal trials had to be delayed simply because there was no vehicle to transport inmates to the court premises from correctional centres. This he explained to be one of the reasons why his administration has decided to donate the new operation vehicles as part of its effort to promote the effective delivery of justice in Rivers State.

Olumide Tuloye, the outgoing Comptroller of the NCS in Rivers State reportedly thanked Governor Wike for the vehicle donation and remarked that no other state government has donated such quality vehicles to the NCS. He also appreciated the fact that the Rivers State government was swift in responding to the requests for support made by the NCS.
