Fresh reports and photos confirm that the Governor of Cross River state, Benedict Ayade, recently launched a special security operation in the state to clamp down on crimes like kidnapping and robbery. Press reports also confirmed that the governor donated as many as 160 patrol vehicles, 10 power bikes, and lots of UAV drones to support the new security operation. According to media outlets, the official codename giving to this new outfit is “Operation Akpakwu” and it comprises of personnel from the Nigerian Navy, Civil Defense, Air Force and the Nigerian Army.

The record also states that each patrol vehicle donated by the governor is equipped with modern “state-of-the-art” communication gadgets. Reports claim that all of the donated vehicles and drones meet the right standards required to help fight any form of criminal activity within the state.

Governor Ayade further stressed that he is even more committed to getting the state to a point where it will regularly record Zero cases of robbery, cultism, and kidnapping all year long.
