The Federal Government, on Monday, assured its citizens of an adequate supply of fuel during the Christmas season.
Naijauto gathered that stakeholders met at the Presidential Villa Abuja to discuss some national issues and there gave the assurance of increased security and fuel supply this Christmas season.
An adequate fuel supply is prerequisite for a merry Christmas
Among those in attendance for the meeting are the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, the Group Managing Director NNPC, Mele Kyari, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammed Adamu, representative of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Comp. General Hilary Kelechi Madu, National President of Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners(NARTO), and oil and gas agencies.
NNPC is ready in terms of supplies and distribution of petroleum products across the country during the yuletide
While addressing the stakeholders, the NNPC boss said,
"We are here today to take stock of our readiness for the festive period, particularly in terms of supplies and distribution of petroleum products across the country, so that this festive period will be enjoyed by Nigerians without any hitch, particularly the Christmas and New Year.
We are very sure today that we have a very robust supply plan not just for Christmas but beyond. We are assuring Nigerians that the NNPC has made arrangement for the adequate supply of petroleum products. If there are any issues, we have come together with other agencies of government to ensure those issues are resolved to ensure Nigerians have a very Merry Christmas this year."
He stated that there was enough petrol for the Yuletide and beyond to enable the nation to have a hitch-free holiday season.
