FRSC officials kidnapped along Akure-Ilesa road are yet to be found

Kidnappers are no respecter of uniform! Two officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps were abducted by suspected kidnappers on Osun state road. The police are working tirelessly but their whereabouts are yet to be known. Check more details below!

Gunmen abducted two FRSC officers on Monday, May 20, 2019 in Osun State. The kidnapped officers were taken hostage along Akure-Ilesa Expressway in Erin Ijesa. A reliable source disclosed that the kidnapped FRSC officers known as Abioye and Baiyeguni happened to be traveling along the road when the incident occurred.

At the time of filing this report, where they were taken to was not known yet. The motive behind the abduction was not clear due to insufficient information. The Police got wind of the incident from families of the victims when they could not reach them on phone.

Folashade Odoro, Osun State Police Command Spokesperson confirmed the abduction of the FRSC officers, and said that the Police were working tirelessly to ensure that they were successfully released.

Suspected kidappers arrested by the Police recently

Kidnapping sometimes occurs on the road with unsuspecting travelers falling victims to the trap of hoodlums. While the motives of these kidnappers vary, in most cases, they request for ransoms from the families of their victims in exchange for their release.

The Nigeria Police are waging war against kidnapping with the successful rescue of some victims. Just a few days ago, police have revealed pictures of 93 kidnappers online.
