A new report reaching us has confirmed that the FRSC is currently hunting for a driver who crushed an Okada rider to death in Rivers State. The tragic incident reportedly happened recently along the Choba Bridge in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This unfortunate news was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps in a recent statement that was issued in the state capital. According to the traffic agency, Charly was the only known identity of the victim involved in the accident. The agency revealed that the collision was caused by a privately-owned car that was driving against the traffic on the bridge.

Salisu Galadunci, who is the FRSC Sector Commander in Rivers state, confirmed this road incident to newsmen in Port Harcourt. While describing the incident as tragic and unfortunate, he revealed that it occurred in the morning at Kilometre 3 in the East-West. Galadunci explained that the driver of a Mazda car lost control of his vehicle and ended up hitting a motorcyclist that was moving in his own lane. Apparently, the rider did not survive the hit as he died right on the spot. The driver, knowing the implication of what he did, left his vehicle and fled the scene.
The Rivers State FRSC sector commander added that the corpse of the single victim of the recent accident has been deposited at the morgue. The vehicle and the bike involved in the road accident were taken to the Choba Police Station. He however assured the general public that the agency would make use of the registered plate number to track the fleeing driver to his hideout. Galadunci also warned motorists to refrain from over-speeding and other forms of dangerous driving that could cause harm to other road users.
