Three persons, including an FRSC officer, have been reported killed, following an accident that happened in Ibadan.
Naijauto learnt that the crash, involving a Mercedes Benz, FRSC Hilux van and a Mack truck, happened close to Guru Maharaji village on the Lagos/ Ibadan expressway, Ibadan.

The incident was said to have injured many people as well and sources claim it was due to negligence of FRSC men on duty. An eyewitness claimed the officials were pursuing the truck driver who refused to bribe them.

According to him,
"I learnt the FRSC guys were pursuing a tipper and in the process, they double-crossed the tipper on speed and the Benz rammed into them.
Police came to the scene but they parked on the other side and couldn’t move near. I guess they were scared of the mob at the scene."
Some of the FRSC officials quickly left the scene of the accident, leaving one of their men who was captured in a video.

The Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed the incident through a written statement said,
"The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to the unfortunate road traffic crash that occurred in Ibadan that claimed the lives of an FRSC staff and one other person who is yet to be identified.
Due to the sensitivity of the incidence and the need to commence immediate investigation, the Corps Marshal has directed the Oyo State Sector Commander to carry out full investigation into the cause of the incident and report immediately."
The victim who sustained serious injury was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate attention while the corpses were taken to the morgue.
